Alina Pollner was awarded this year’s Recognition Award at the California State Science and Engineering Fair.  She used CRISPR-Cas9 to eliminate Mini Zinc Fingers 1 and 2 (MZF1 & MZF2) in Arabidopsis, yielding a spectacular phenotype with triple the number of fruit in an otherwise normal plant.
